Once your application has been processed, you will be issued with a learner’s licence and you will be able to start taking driving lessons! In order to progress to a full licence, you will need to pass both a theory test and a practical driving test.
Before you can take your driving test, you must first complete a minimum of 45 hours of formal driving lessons with a licensed driving instructor. You will also need to log a minimum of 20 hours of supervised driving practice with a friend or family member who holds a valid full licence.
Once you have completed your driving lessons and logged the required number of hours of supervised practice, you will be able to book your practical driving test!
The practical driving test is conducted by appointment only and can be booked through any Licensing Office or Authorized Driving Instructor. The test fee is currently HK$650.
