French Horn Lessons

A Graduate of the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, Todor Popstoyanov’s professional career began at the age of 21 when he joined the Spanish Royal Opera House, a position he was offered by Maestro Lorin Maazel. Currently Todor is a member of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also collaborated with orchestras from the USA, Europe and Asia, including Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, Komische Opera Berlin, Barcelona Symphony, New World Symphony, Malaysian Philharmonic, KBS Symphony, among others. Major conductors he has worked extensively with are Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Velery Gergier, Lorin Maazel, Jaap van Zweden. Todor is also an avid chamber musician and solo performer having won several prizes, of which highlights are The Yamaha Performing Artists Competition, International Horn Society Competition, Barry Tuckwell Scholarship, Bramhall Concerto Competition. A native of Bulgaria, he began playing the piano at 5 and the horn at age 9. His most influential teachers are his mother, Kurt Snyder and Jerome Ashby of the New York Philharmonic. Teaching experience includes 14+ years of students of all levels. Recent teaching achievements include student's First Prize award at the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association Competition.
